Founded in 2007, Rooftop Collective designs and builds innovative web, database, and data integration applications.

The principals, Doug Daniels and Kay Young, have a combined 15 years of industry experience. They have innovated on the Palm platform, writing software used by educators to assess the literacy of 10% of all K-2 students in the U.S.

Last year, they led two large teams of developers to achieve an on-time, on-budget delivery of the New York City Department of Education data portal, thus succeeding in just five months on a project that IBM abandoned after a year of lost effort. The data portal reaches more than a million teachers and parents.
